Pat, if I were you I would not put much stock in blatantly commercial responses that appear in this forum from time to time. Check out the BBB report on the company Luis is promoting at

They have an F rating. TFC's BBB report isn't any better (viewable from the link above your question). Make sure you click on the debt settlement tag to read up on previous responses on this industry.

BEWARE THE SCAM....any venture where you pay a substantial fee up front is ripe for disaster. From my personal experiance "debt settlement/consolidation/counseling" is a RIP OFF. I was in one ENLIGHTENED DEBT, LAKE MARY,Fl. paid the huge fee and monthly retainer and trust fee only to be told they're 'GOING OUT OF BUSINESS'...got almost no results.
