This company contacted my job by phone. We gave them all of the company information. They simply collected all of the debt. Which all of our customers claim that they have paid the owner Richard Newman from Brooks, Newman, & Stone. But never received any information as far as to let us know when they're going to pay us. Which we call they never answer, leave them messages they never call back, and when they do answer they're always on meetings.

I can't speak to whether or not he can prosecute them, but you may want to start at least by filing a complaint with the BBB. The company has received 2 complaints and responded to them, so I think it's worth a shot. You can file directly on their report here: http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/Business-Report/Brooks-Newman-and-Stone-Inc-92018329

As a part 2 to my response, I dug a little deeper and noticed there were other threads about this company posted already. It seems the consumers are having the same kind of problem you are and I think you should check this one out:

Also, a BBB colleage posted the following, which you should find useful:

You don't say how much they owe you, but unless it's a substantial sum of money, it probably wouldn't be practical to file a lawsuit. The problem is you'd have to sue in Florida because that's where they're domiciled and that's where there assets, if any, are located.

My suggestion would be to make a pest of yourself by calling frequently and trying to speak to someone in authority. If this doesn't work, send letters with increasingly stronger demands. Hopefully this will produce some results, but keep in mind that if they stonewall you, as a practical matter, you may be without a remedy.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
