I received a free 2 night cruise the threw the mail from caribbeancl.com I already gave them the 118$ they wanted for the port fees. then i look on the internet and every1 says thats its a scam because the sales people are pushy about getting you to buy more stuff but arent all sales people like that? I only agreed to the cruise and i am looking for some info from somebody who has done the same and already went on the cruise, i was told i wouldnt have to sit threw any timeshare stuff. but i want to know if its a scam before I buy plane tickets cause there expensive from las vegasv(where i am) I am 21 years old and dont have much money so its hard for me to pass up on a cheap cruise like this, but i do know nothing in life is free and if sounds to good to be to its most likely fake. I need help please reply if you have any info

Michael,
I'm 21 also, college student, no money so I thought the same exact thing a free trip why not. I just booked mine. I have the same deal and so far so good. Yes they did try to push different specials such as a deluxe room or extra nights..alittle bit of this and that... For only X amount of dollars more but I just kept firm tone and insisted on no upgrade on anything. I mean I booked mine for the date June 17 2010 they gave me all the information on what time the boat leaves what time boarding is and also the arrival of the whole 2 night trip. I've also kept a close look at my card that it was processed under and so far no extra charges have been made to it just the gov fee and port fee which was also 118. Like I said so far so good I'm definitely going to keep tabs on the trip every now and then call with a new question to see if everything is still steady rolling. All I can say is lets hope for the best if you have any other questions email me sperez51588@hotmail.com

Definitely a scam! I agreed and gave them my credit card. When I tried to book, they denied meals which were supposed to be included, even though I had a letter from them telling me they were included. The run-around you get from them is unbelievable! They told me I couldn't email the letter to them -- they don't have time for emails! They gave me 3 fax numbers before I could get the fax to go through. Reps were rude beyond imagination. If I didn't upgrade the cabin for $150 my ocean-view room might be a 40 sq ft cabin with bunk-beds! No one over 50 or over 180 lbs were prohibited from these cabins (a little detail not given when sold). I was told to upgrade the hotel rooms because I might not be able to do so upon check-in. If I didn't pay another $75 per night, I might not "like what I see at check-in." I refused the upgrades. The real clincher was when my credit card statement arrived. Instead of the $547 which I authorized, they charged me $665! Again, I called and was transferred to 8 different reps before getting the most obnoxious, rude agent ever. She told me I was lying and that was the cost of the cruise package. After 2 hours of this run-around, I finally got LaVonda to pull the tape recording of the credit card authorization. After 15 minutes, she came back and said she would include water taxi tickets for the difference. I told her no way, I wanted a refund. This really set her off and she told me No One gets a refund. I'm disputing the charge with my credit card company. This company should be shut down for "bait and switch" tactics and fraud.
