Luminara Flameless Candles

In October of 2012 I made the following purchase from Dutchman Designs in Highlands, NC: Luminary Candles - three seven inch at $42 each, and two five inch at $39 each. The lights have gone out on two of these candles - the seven inch ones; which were
$42 each. The lights are hard-wired and are not a replaceable bulb. I called Dutchman Designs today (29 June 2013) and spoke with Kelly, the assistant manager. She said that the candles must be just worn out. To this I replied, A candle that costs $42 should
not 'wear out' after only 8 mos. She said that they burn theirs all the time and that they have had no problems with theirs, and no one has ever called in with a complaint before. She said that I should look at my receipt - their policy for refunds is that
the product must be returned within 7 days. My policy is that if I pay this much for a candle, it should last longer than 8 mos and the vendor should make the product good if it is defective. I told her that I have really enjoyed the candles and that I have
told all my friends about them; and that I have probably sold a lot of candles for them. I asked if she could go back to the manufacturer for remedy; she said no. I asked if I could have the manufacturer's contact info, so that I can go back to them - she
said no. I am planning to file an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau that services the Highlands Area. I always read company/business consumer reviews; and never shop with a vendor with poor reviews. Rest assured that I will NEVER shop at Dutchman
Designs again and will tell all my friends to steer clear of their business as well. Buyer beware!
