When I first called everything was fine. Then it was well there is a three day minimum .. then they needed a non-refundable deposit ... then it was half the rental amount for the 4 day reservation. When I balked at paying a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of almost $800, the guy I spoke with said he was going to cancel my reservation since I didn't sound like someone who really wanted to rent the property. Ever have a merchant tell you that they weren't going to accept your business??? I wonder if they ever leased that property. Anyway, after that provocative statement caught me off-guard, I told him that a NON-Refundable Deposit of $800 was unconscionable. He then accused me of being RUDE. Attempts to speak with anyone after that were met with closed minds and hang-ups. I have never had to pay so much for a non-refundable deposit and it really hit a nerve. They did urge me to purchase vacation insurance, but shouldn't they purchase it??? Cancellations are a cost of doing business and half the total rental is punitive!! I would never stay there under these conditions.
