DO NOT RENT THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!!!
I have heard the horror storied from other tenants but didn't actually see it til I moved in. First off, they showed me a DIRTY apartment. It stunk like someone had animals and the stench was horrible. They promised to have it all cleaned up and fixed by my move in. When I moved in, it was still dirty. Yes they had cleaned the carpet, but it still stunk and I had to do additional cleaning. Within the first month I noticed the dry wall was chipping away from the window sils and paint was coming off the walls. I asked them to fix it and they never did. My roof started leaking at 11p one night and it took them over a year to fix and repair it. The door to the back yard was installed backwards and during my 27 months there, they had to come fix it quite a bit as I could not get the door to open or shut properly. The kitchen sink was leaking. I asked them to fix it and they blamed it on me!!! Said I didn't know how how to wash dishes. They left the molded boarding in the bottom cabinet and I had to go out and purchase all new wood and supplies to fix it because they refused to. Come to find out, it was a broken pipe. By the way, that also went on for over a year. I had complained about the carpet on numerous occasions. Eventually I called a carpet guy to come out and give me a quote to install new carpet.....yes, on my dime. He inspected the carpet and noticed that the padding had NEVER been replaced. The floor underneath was dirty and he could tell that the carpet was old and needed to be replaced ASAP. We decided that it wasn't our responsibility and left it to the owner who in turned said he would only pay a small portion of the $1500 to replace the carpet. Our bathroom fan broke 6 months prior to our move out and they never bothered to come fix it despite me requesting it numerous times. After we moved we received our deposit statement. They are trying to charge us $2300 for carpet that needed to be replaced before I even moved in and they are also trying to charge me for the broken back door that was installed incorrectly before I moved in and they are also trying to charge me $600 to repaint the unit. Learn your laws and make sure they are handy if you rent through this company. They legally can only charge up to 10% of the remaining carpet life and if you have lived in a unit over 2 years they can't charge you to paint either. All in all, I am going to take them to court because I now have a bill that exceeds $2400 despite my $1300 deposit. Best thing to do is look elsewhere. These people are shady and their units are in bad shape. They hold the tenants responsible for their damage.
