Our experience with Lux Travel Group was horrible. We purchased the $65 Daily Save deal and made reservations for an 8 am San Diego pick up Saturday July 30, returning Monday August 1st. The bus was four hours late picking us up Saturday morning. By then, half of the people waiting had already left, deciding to drive their own cars instead. They were the smart ones. It took over an hour to get a hold of anyone at Lux Saturday morning to find out if a bus was actually coming. When we did, no one seemed to know anything. We were finally able to talk to someone named Michael who assured us that a bus was coming but it wouldn't be there until 11:30. The bus that was originally scheduled to pick us up needed to be serviced and they had to send a different one. He apologized and said that he would refund our trip and pay for our breakfast. He was also throwing in 2 free round trip tickets so that we could try them again. That worked for us and we waited. The bus showed up at noon and we were off. It definitely wasn't luxurious. There was no food, no drinks. No hot towels or anything else they claim on the website. It was an old, slow, beat up bus with uncomfortable seats. But it got us to Vegas. We checked out of our hotel Monday and hung out by the pool. I got a call from Michelle around noon asking me to make sure I had the Daily Save voucher with me when they picked us up so that they could give us a check for the refund. I said we would and asked if the bus would pick us up at 3 or 3:30. She said hold on and asked the bus driver what time they would be in Vegas. Michelle got back on the phone and told me 5:30 or 6. We weren't happy about the delay but at least we knew ahead of time and could plan accordingly. At 5:15 we got to Bally's for the pick up and called Michelle to find out where they were. She told us they were just leaving Barstow and wouldn't be able to pick us up until 8:30 or 9pm. This was a much bigger deal. We all had to be at work the next morning and we were now looking at a 2:30 or 3 am arrival in San Diego. We were angry but we waited. She called us several times while were waiting, updating us on the expected arrival. At 8:15 Michelle called and said she had bad news. They were cancelling our bus. She said it was broken down and wouldn't make it back to San Diego. I asked if they had another bus. She said no, the entire company has only two buses and the other one was already in the shop. I asked what our options were. She said we had to stay another night and that they "might" be able to get us the next day. That wouldn't work for us as several people waiting had to be home by morning. I didn't think we'd be able to make a flight that night and demanded that they hire a livery service to drive us home. She said that they couldn't help us and that we could call and talk to the owner in the morning. After I hung up the phone someone else waiting for the bus saw it pull up to Bally's. We all went outside to confront them. They gave us our refund checks and told us that they had to take the bus to the shop but would call is in an hour to arrange a trip home. As the bus was driving away Michelle looked back at us, smiled sarcastically, mouthed "bye-bye," and waved. Someone else in our party immediately called her, she picked up and said, "stuff happens, buses break down, we can't help you," and hung up on him. Stunned, angry, and defeated, we found a hotel and booked a flight for the next morning. The experience was unbelievable and I have never been so angry at a company. I would rather walk from San Diego to Vegas than ever hire them again. I'm going to send them the receipts for the flight and ask for reimbursement, but I 'm fairy certain I'll have to take them to small claims to get the money back. And even if I win, I doubt they will be in business long enough for me to collect. Never use Lux, they are terrible.
