My 17 month old motherboard died before Thanksgiving. On Nov. 27th, I placed an order with PC Planet Systems because they carried my obsolete board. And they are only 6 1/2 miles from my door. I really needed this item ASAP. With my mobo dead I was forced to use my Pentium laptop running Windows 98. IE 6 cannot run Adobe Flash, so I couldn't use PS Planet Systems Live Chat. After a few days, when I didn't get a ship date on their web site, I called both their 800 number and their local number. Each number gave me the same prerecorded message instructing me to e-mail them with any questions. So I e-mailed them, told them that I desperately needed my order, and asked if I could pick it up in person. I didn't receive an answer, so I drove over to their place of business, which is a very little house behind another very little house. No one was home. A couple of days later, with no motherboard and no reply, I e-mailed them again describing my great need and giving them my home number with instructions to call me. But it was obvious that I wasn't going to hear from them anytime soon. So I ordered my item from Ohio and they shipped immediately. After I placed my order, I e-mailed PC Planet, and told them to cancel my order. PC Planet actually did cancel my order in a timely manner. One week later, my motherboard arrived from Ohio and I am now on line. No thanks to PC Planet Systems. I have a feeling that, although they advertised that they had my motherboard, they didn't. I also have a feeling that all of the positive reviews posted here are lies posted by whomever runs PC Planet Systems. The negative reviews sound more like what I experienced. They have better not charged my credit card for the motherboard that they didn't ship or they will be dealing with one very angry attorney - me.
