Never in my life have I been scammed this badly; i guess I've been lucky so far.
I purchased a late model mercedes seen on eBay and described on the phone as mechanically and cosmetically perfect. I wanted a mechanical inspection prior to purchasing and wanted to know of any and all leaks the car had. I stupidly let their in house mechanic do it, and he reported nothing.
The car arrived a basket case. Faded paint, major dents, falling down headliner, and more. Mechanically, the car had a bad transmission that didn't shift out of first. The head gasket had a very large oil leak. The radio didn't work and the climate control was stuck on heat.
I have repair estimates that far exceed the value of the car.
I must have called and emailed US auto 20-30 times. None were returned. Whenever I could use a friend's number with a different area code I got right through, only to have them pretend to drop the call, outright hang up, or say I have to wait for a manager to call back.
These people are the scum of the earth. I filed compaints with every state and national agency possible as well as every online review site I can find to steer people away. How these people are not shut down given the number of complaints they have is astounding. Absolutely astounding!
